Summary: we collect only what the network needs to move a parcel — your name, phone, parcel origin/destination, and payment events. We do not sell data. You can ask us to delete yours at any time.
Who we are
Relayed ("Relayed", "we", "us") is a parcel-station network operator incorporated in Ghana, with operations headquartered in Accra. This policy covers the data we collect when you use our website at userelayed.com, our stations, our merchant and courier apps, and any Relayed-branded communications.
For privacy matters, our Data Protection Officer can be reached at privacy@userelayed.com.
What we collect
We collect three categories of data:
- Account data — your name, phone number, email, business name (for merchants), GhanaPostGPS code, and any identification you provide during onboarding (National ID, rider's licence for couriers).
- Parcel data — parcel origin and destination, weight and size, declared value, tracking code, scan events (timestamp, station, courier), delivery-confirmation signatures, and SMS delivery status.
- Payment data — mobile-money transaction references for payments you make to Relayed or receive from Relayed. We do not store your mobile-money PIN or other payment credentials.
We also collect standard web-analytics data when you visit the site — pages viewed, approximate city, referring site. This is aggregated and not linked to your account.
How we use it
- To route parcels through the station network and dispatch couriers.
- To notify you (and your recipients) by SMS at every scan event.
- To process mobile-money payments and payouts.
- To investigate damage, loss, or delivery disputes.
- To improve the network — analyse flow patterns, place new stations, model demand. This is done on aggregated, de-identified data.
- To meet our legal and tax obligations under Ghanaian law.
We do not use your data to train machine-learning models that are sold or licensed to third parties. We do not sell your data.
Data retention
We keep parcel and scan records for 24 months after delivery to support disputes, investigations, and tax audits. Account data is kept for as long as you maintain an account with us, plus 12 months after closure.
Web-analytics data is retained for 14 months in aggregated form. We do not link it to named users.
Your rights
Under Ghanaian data-protection law, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate data.
- Request deletion of your data (subject to our retention obligations).
- Object to specific uses of your data.
- Withdraw consent at any time for uses that are based on consent.
- Lodge a complaint with the Ghana Data Protection Commission.
To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@userelayed.com. We respond within 14 days.
